A Stakeholder Seminar on Efficient Lighting Programmes was held on June 29, 2007 at Asian Development Bank Headquarters in Manila. The forum was co-sponsored by Philippines Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Program (PELMATP), a 5-year US$15 million project implemented by the Department of Energy (DOE) with support from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Efficient Lighting Initiative (ELI) Quality Certification Institute.
An Industry Meeting of Compact Florescent Lamp (CFL) suppliers, importers and distributors was held on June 22, 2007 at the Lighting and Appliance Testing Laboratory (LATL) of the Department of Energy (DOE) in Quezon City. The forum was sponsored by the LATL in cooperation with the Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation ProjectProgram PELMATP a 5-year US$15- million project implemented by the DOE with support from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP) has given special citations to its valuable partners in helping achieve its objective of addressing barriers to the widespread use of energy efficient lighting systems on “Energy Partnerships Day” held on December 14, 2006 at the MERALCO Theater. The project is being spearheaded by the Department of Energy (DOE) with the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
To curb the increasing fuel and electricity prices, the government wants to lead by example to the country by having government agencies champions of energy efficiency. Through the DOE-UNDP-GEF Philippine Efficient Lighting market Transformation Project (PELMATP) the Government ENERCON Officers Conference (GEOC) was held at the DOE-Audio Visual Room (AVR) on 5 December 2006.
DOE-LATL with PELMATP was featured in Ms. Winnie Cordero's Segment with Director Raquel S. Huliganga and Ms. Mirna Campanano as special guests. The Palit-Ilaw Program was highlighted including the change of Incandescent Bulbs to Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs).
Department of Energy breaks ground for the first luminaire test facility in ASEAN
The Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Goniophotometer Facility of the Department of Energy (DOE) was held on July 25, 2007, Wednesday, at 9:45 am at the construction site in DOE-Energy Center, Taguig City. Government officials, lighting stakeholders, and a representative from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) attended the event.
