4th Government Energy Officers’ Conference

Secretary Angelo T. Reyes together with key DOE Officials, Sr. Usec. Roy V. Kyamko, Usec. Loreta G. Ayson and OIC-Director Evelyn N. Reyes, graced the 4th Government Energy Officers’ Conference held on 15 July 2009 at the DOE’s Audio-Visual Room. Conference highlights include the signing of two (2) significant agreements through the DOE-Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP), i.e., (1) Voluntary Agreement or VA with Megaman Lighting Philippines for its importation/local distribution of government-compliant CFLs with performance specifications way above the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS); and (2) Memorandum of Agreement or MOA with two consumer cooperatives, St. Francis Xavier Housing Cooperative – Abuyog St. Francis Xavier Credit Cooperative (SFHC-AFCCO), and the Philippine Home Savers and Builders Cooperative (PHSBC) for micro-financing of energy efficient lighting systems (EELs). Government Energy Officers, aside from sharing among themselves best energy management practices, were made aware of better EEL choices in the market as well as EEL financing option that can be replicated in their respective consumer cooperatives.
